Does Summit Vista Have a Religious Affiliation?

August 26, 2016

Although more than 50 percent of Salt Lake’s citizens identify themselves as Mormon*, the other half of the population comes from a variety of religions and cultures. This same diversity can already be found among the Summit Vista Club members. At Summit Vista, you will be surrounded by seniors who want to make their own decisions, age in place, socialize, travel without the worry of a residence to care for and live in a home that fits their ideal lifestyle.

All Faiths Welcome

As area seniors begin to see the advantages of a Life Plan Community and inquire about Summit Vista, our retirement counselors are often asked whether Summit Vista has a religious affiliation. Summit Vista is a community where all faiths are welcome, and a place where people know about you, care about you and support you. While the community is not affiliated with any one particular religion or denomination, residents of Summit Vista will have a variety of opportunities to continue practicing their faiths.

Building Relationships

Already, work has begun to develop relationships with local places of worship. The surrounding areas feature places to worship for people who belong to almost every religion, including multiple denominations of Christian belief – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Roman Catholic, Baptist, Episcopal and Methodist, to name a few – as well as Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, Unitarian Universalism, Sikh, and more.

Those that have already placed a priority deposit to reserve a select apartment home come from diverse faith backgrounds.

Says one priority depositor: “My husband and I have just picked out our new home at Summit Vista. We are inactive in our church and are looking forward to the non-denominational chapel, as well as meeting many new friends who are members of other groups. We have found a mixture of people who don’t even ask about our religion.”

A Sense of Belonging

Summit Vista will be an equal housing opportunity community, and does not and will not discriminate on the basis of race, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, national origin (ancestry), marital status, or sexual orientation.

Communities teach us to care for and respect one another, and see individuals as part of a whole. The Summit Vista community will be no different. Our goal is to build a place where community-minded seniors will come together to experience a socially rewarding lifestyle. With a diverse population and a vast array of amenities and groups, Summit Vista will satisfy your physical and social needs—and especially your sense of belonging.
